The Flow Chart (Sankey diagram) provides a powerful visual representation of how hours, revenue, costs, or profit flows between different entities in your organization.
Key Features
- Multi-level Visualization: Configure up to three levels of data flow visualization
- Interactive Nodes: Click on any node to drill down and make that entity the new root node
- Customizable Flow: Choose what metrics and entities to display
- Item Limiting: Option to show only top performers for clearer visualization
Configuration Options
Source Category (Level 1)
Choose the starting point of your data flow:
- Company: Start from your organization as a whole
- Customer: Start from individual customers
- Project: Start from specific projects
Middle Category (Level 2)
Define the middle level in your data flow:
- Project: See how data flows through projects
- Customer: See how data flows through customers
- User: See how data flows through users
Target Category (Level 3) - Optional
Add an optional third level for more granular analysis:
- Project, Customer, or User
- None: Skip the third level
Entity Selection
When viewing by customer or project, you can select a specific entity to focus on.
Item Limit
Control how many items to display:
- Show All: View all data points
- Top 10: View only the top 10 performers
- Top 5: View only the top 5 performers
How to Read the Diagram
- The width of each flow represents the relative size of the value
- Hover over connections to see detailed information and percentages
- Click on nodes to drill down into that specific entity
- Use the toolbar above the diagram to export images or view in fullscreen
Tips
- Start with the Company view to get an overview, then drill down by clicking on nodes
- Toggle between Hours, Revenue, Costs, and Profit to see different perspectives
- The thicker the flow line, the larger the value being represented
