The Charts view provides time-series visualization of your data, allowing you to track trends over time and compare periods.

• Time-Series Visualization: See how your metrics change over time
• Period Comparison: Compare current data with a previous time period
• Responsive Time Scale: Time scale adjusts automatically based on selected date range
• Interactive Tooltips: Hover over data points to see detailed information

Understanding the Chart

The chart displays your selected metric (Hours, Revenue, Costs, or Profit) over time:

• X-axis: Time periods (days, weeks, months, or years depending on your date range)
• Y-axis: The metric you've selected (Hours, Revenue, Costs, or Profit)
• Primary bars: Current period data
• Line overlay: Comparison period data (when comparison is enabled)

How to Use

1. Select Date Range: Use the date picker at the top to define your analysis period
2. Choose Unit: Select which metric to analyze (Hours, Revenue, Costs, or Profit)
3. Enable Comparison: Toggle "Show Comparison" to see how current data compares with a previous period
4. Filter by Project Type: Choose to view All Projects, Billable, or Internal projects

Comparison Feature

When you enable the comparison feature:

• The chart displays a line representing data from the previous period
• The comparison period is automatically calculated to match the length of your selected date range
• The comparison period dates are shown below the "Show Comparison" toggle

Tips

• Shorter date ranges (1-3 months) provide more detailed daily or weekly views
• Longer ranges provide a higher-level monthly or yearly perspective
• Hover over data points to see exact values for both current and comparison periods
• Look for patterns or anomalies when comparing periods
